Most people will be aware of what is involved in having a car valeted but here is a quick guide to detailing which may be an expression you are not fully familiar with:

Detailing is superior to valeting as a lot more time, care and attention is applied to a vehicle. Detailing takes a vehicle to its highest level of presentation using the best products, correct tools and skilful techniques. Paintwork correction is often involved which means the removal of common paint problems, e.g. scratches, swirl marks, oxidation, buffer trails, cobwebbing and hologram effects. This is done by using a selection of compounds and polishes to correct these imperfections so that the paintwork is restored to its original finish.

Please get in touch with us if you have any enquiries about our services or want to book a valet or detailing session for your car. Our details are on the Contact Us page.

Washing is the process of removing loosely bonded surface contaminants such as dust, dirt, flies and road salt from the exterior surfaces of your car and usually needs to be done on a weekly basis if you want to keep your car looking great most of the time. Learn how to wash your car properly reducing the damage to your paintwork.

Cleaning is the process of removing firmly bonded surface contaminants such as bug remains, tar spots and old wax or sealant residues which cannot be removed from the exterior surfaces of your car by normal washing. Clay is one of the products used to safely remove firmly bonded contaminants in preparation for either polishing or the addition of wax or sealant protection. As with most things in life preparation in the key.

Polishing is a broad term for a range of processes that either remove or mask exterior paint defects such as swirl marks and scratches and which dramatically increase surface gloss in preparation for the addition of wax or sealant protection. This is usually done by machine giving  better finish.

Protection against the elements in order to preserve the quality of the finish. Such protection comes in the form of either natural carnuba waxes or synthetic sealants which offer varying degrees of gloss, reflectivity, slickness and durability.
